The Burrell Collection is a grand museum situated in the stunning Glaswegian countryside. It houses the impressive art collection of Sir William Burrell and Constance, Lady Burrell. Some time circa 1930, Sir William donated his entire collection to the public, which features an eclectic mix of impressive pieces from all over the world.

Over the years the Stained Glass Display Company has successfully fulfilled the Stained Glass framing needs of the Burrell Collection. Most recently the SGDC created 130 bespoke Stained Glass frames to house the museum’s valuable historic Stained Glass panels for a major refurbishment. The frames had to exactly meet the specifications of the extremely important panels, both in dimensions and with the special design introduction of a new form of adjustable saddle bar.

An additional requirement was that some of the stained glass had to fit the Burrell’s sliding rack storage system when not on display. Special supports were designed so the frames could fit this racking without needing to remove the Stained Glass from the safety of the frames.
